Mt Kenya people call for Billionares’ Gachagua And Uhuru to Reconcile.

A group of leaders from Mt. Kenya has called on former President Uhuru Kenyatta and the immediate former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, to reconcile and work together for the unity of the region.

The leaders emphasized that a united front under one umbrella would strengthen the region’s political influence, enabling it to form alliances with other regions and pose a strong challenge to the current government in the 2027 elections.

Former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi, who led the group, stressed the importance of avoiding political divisions for the sake of future generations. “All leaders of sound mind should and must join hands to liberate this country from the yokes of the repressive Kenya Kwanza regime. Otherwise, we shall have no country to bequeath to our children,” Mwathi said in an interview with People Daily.

Mwathi expressed support for Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent call urging Gen Z to stand up for their rights, dismissing criticism of the former president as short-sighted. “Uhuru was within his democratic rights of freedom of expression just like all of us. Those rebuking him are either ignorant of the constitution or cheerleaders of the KK government,” he remarked.

He further encouraged citizens to resist poor governance, urging widespread participation from different sectors of society. “Many leaders, including myself, support resistance to bad governance. Gen Z and indeed all forthright-thinking people should rise up against bad governance. Lecturers, teachers, doctors, civil servants, mama mboga, boda boda operators, mkokoteni pushers—everyone must play their part,” Mwathi said.
